Why
did you choose this track(s) to remix ? |
Well it (Lush3.1) had a nice clean
beginning. Meaning the song starts out with a just a melody
and nothing else, no drums, no sfx, etc. So it was something
that I could sample, loop, and work with, without having to
deal with someone else's percussion, etc.
|
|
|
Why
did you enter this competition ? |
Cause I wanted to see how well
I could remix an Orbital track and see how it would stack up
to others. And I missed last years contest but like two months
I was so disappointed.
|
|
|
Who
are your musical influences ? |
Well in no particular order though
I did start listening to Orbital first. Orbital, the Future
Sound of London, the Orb, Source Direct, and Delerium. yes yes
now all of this is apparent it this mix, cause if it were it
wouldn't sound like music.
|
|
|
Musical
equipment/software used ? |
FastTracker 2.08, a wav editor,
and a multitracker (mixes stereo wavs). All software based.
Though I wise oh I wise I had gear.
|
|
|
If
you had to listen to one Orbital track every day...what would
it be and why ? |
Definitely "Out there Somewhere"
It's a totally spacey song, with great mysterious feel to it
aswell. I totally dig the synths/samples they used in it as
well, stuff that I have still never heard in any other groups
song.
