Why
did you choose this track(s) to remix ? |
I wanted to use just one basic,
familiar orbital loop and take it in a new direction. "Forever"
offered the best opportunity to do this with its core loop.
It's also one of my absolute favorite tracks.
|
|
|
Why
did you enter this competition ? |
I've been playing around with
different types of remixing on my P.C. for a couple of years
now. After checking out last year's competion on-line, I
decided to have a go at it.
|
|
|
Who
are your musical influences ? |
Orbital, Orb, King Crimson,
Peter Gabriel, Beastie Boys, Medeski Martin & Wood, assorted
Acid Jazz... most of my remixes are influenced by a bit
of each.
|
|
|
Musical
equipment/software used ? |
Mixman Studio and a couple
of basic ".wav" editors.
|
|
|
If
you had to listen to one Orbital track every day...what would
it be and why ? |
The Girl With The Sun in Her
Head - I *do* almost listen to this every day. Well, not
so much anymore, I guess. No other artist balances serenity
and anger as effectively as Orbital. "The Girl" is inspiring
in this regard.
