Loopz
Internet Radio was launched on April 27th 2003 and is sponsored
by Webair.com.
Broadcasts will be every Sunday from 3pm to 7pm (UK Time). What
time is it now in the UK ?
The Idea
The
idea is to broadcast a 4 hour stream every Sunday at 3pm UK TIME
featuring dj sets/live sets from contributing artists. These can
range from the known and established to the up and coming unsigned
musicians. Inbetween the sets there will be various mp3s played
that has the stamp of Loopz recommendation.
We hope to provide full details of all music played and where
possible links to find out more and to purchase cds etc. We are
a great believer in putting money back into the music industry
and exposing those artists that deserve recognition.
Contribute and Communicate
We will also be giving the oppurtunity for you to submit tracks
via a ftp site. We cant promise to play them all but some will
get some airplay.
During the stream you will be able to view who is playing whether
its a dj set or a mp3. There is also an online Loopz
Internet Radio Forum and an Online
Chat room (log in first or it wont work) to talk about the
radio broadcasts but you will need to register
first.

You will have iTunes installed by default: it's usually in the
Dock. The latest version is 3.0.1.
This software is free.
Mac
OS 9
users
You won't have a pre-loaded MP3 player: download and install iTunes.
The latest version is 2.0.4.
This software is free.
Mac
OS 8
users
Your best option is to download and install Macamp
2.0.1. When you first run it, click "OK" when you're
asked if you want Macamp to assign MIME types. This software costs
$15 if you want to record streams, but is fully functional if
you don't want to shell out any money.
Please
Note: this is not intended to be an exhaustive list of Mac MP3
players, merely a simple guide for those new to MP3 streams: if
you've got as far as installing a different player, you probably
know what you're doing, but they all work in much the same way.
Once
you're ready, click on "Listen" (left hand side navigation
area). Your browser will download a small file (usually called
listen.pls) to your default download folder which will then open
the player and stream juicy audio direct to your computer!
