No, I was deadly serious about 'Rollerball'.Hexaphim wrote:Uh... are you joking? I have to admit, I never watched it because I heard it was pure excrement. The 2.8 average rating on IMDB.com (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246894/) supports these claims...Dog wrote:The recent remake of 'Rollerball' again, with Chris Klien, JJ Cool J, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Jean Reno etc. It's a good film, a little flaky around the edges, but it nicely spins the original 'Rollerball' story 180deg without actually losing anything and it's a very good film... The Eric Serra score is superb too.
On a positive note, I watched Batman Begins tonight, and thought it was fantastic. Very well done.

I saw Fantastic Four this weekend, and thought it was really bad. I think you might enjoy it more if you've never read the comic book and don't know how badly they messed up some of the characters (especially Dr. Doom).Loopz wrote:Fantastic Four - It was ok but suffered again with too much romance and not enough good old super hero action! great effects of course.
The special effects weren't very good either, far from it. The stretching effect of Reed was particularly bad, the CGI didn't blend with the background at all.
The respective actors nailed the Human Torch and the Thing, but again their characters were let down by the special effects.

Some people don't get the Transformers. It's simple. They're big robots. And they change into things. And they fight. This is beautiful and mad. If you do not get this, there is something missing in your soul. - Paul O'Brien

Once Upon A Time In The West. was on telly just now
what an ace film. henry fonda playing the bad guy for once, mutherfuckin' charlie bronson as the mysterious harmonica man, jason robards as the framed up gang leader and the stunningly beautiful claudia cardinale as the widow looking for justice. epic film, epic music, epic acting and an epic story. All to be expected when you have a cast like that and Sergio Leone in the directors chair and Ennio Morricone doing the music.
I should really upgrade my crap VHS copy to the deluxe super dooper double DVD.

It's 106 miles to Chicago.
We got a full tank of gas,
half a pack of cigarettes.
It's dark and we are wearing sunglasses

i only watched fear & loathing once, several years ago, shitty downloaded copy on a computer monitor whilst inappropriately sober. seemed quite good but left me feeling like i should watch it again.
the book i was well impressed with, read in one sitting.
