Omen - Remix w/dialogue speaker

Post by Shuna_Sassi »

Hello and greetings,

alas, I can't find my original query about a remix of "Omen" from some years back. I once posted in an older Loopz forum seeking the name of a remix of "Omen". There's been some talk about "seeing the future"...but my query goes in another direction.

I have on cassette a mix of songs from around the '90s, I think early '90s, from a club DJ (via my sister) that has "Omen" on it. The song begins with a man speaking about a dream he had, being on the desert of Argos and talking about a popeyed mask. Music from "Omen" quietly joins the dialogue, eventually leading to the dialogue ending in "I wake up" and then singing of "I've seen the future" begins. I am familiar with the source of "I've seen the future".

I have finally discovered what the speaking dialogue is, where it comes from. I'm not entirely familiar with the rules so I'm not sure if I can say the source of the speaking dialogue. I do not know who the speaker is in the speaking dialogue used in this song/remix.

The mystery I'm trying to solve is if this song, or mix or remix is an actual Orbital song that Orbital created. If so, what is the name of the remix? I'm wanting to buy, purchase download of the song/album, or vinyl or CD. If not, I guess I'll have to enjoy my mono sound, cassette version until it deteriorates beyond playing.

about samples, you can say anything you want. the webmaster will not deny or confirm it to be true... :P

If the music is the same as the original omen, it could wel be that the person who made the dj mix mixed in the vocal him / herself.

There is a 12" with remixes of omen, but none of them have more dialogue..

Well, it *sounds* as though it's something that the DJ mixed into Omen - doesn't sound like a mix of Omen I've heard, although there are countless DJ Subscription Remix packages out there, so I guess it could be one of them?

Personally, I'd invest in one of these (I have!)...

Re: Omen - Remix w/Equus dialogue

Thanks for the replies. The dialogue spoken in this version of Omen is by a gentleman with a British accent reading from scene 5 of the play Equus. The music goes so well with the description of this dream from the play. Wow. Then eventually ends with the bits from "I've seen the future".

Appreciate the input.
