Simply Red are set to split in 2009, it has been announced.
Lead singer Mick Hucknall has said that their current album 'Stay' will be their last and that they will disband after their tour, due to end in two years time.
He said: "I've kind of decided that the 25 years is going to be enough."
Hucknall revealed that he wants to concentrate on an album of his own.
He said: "I've just recorded an album that is a tribute to Bobby Bland, a blues and R&B artist. It's a solo project and I've really enjoyed it - so much that I feel the time has come now to just put a book-end to the Simply Red story."
The singer added that he planned to "invent a new form of music," which was influenced by R&B tracks from the 1960s.
Unless you plug the wires directly into your skull, at the end of the chain is a set of speakers pumping back-and-forth turning ANY signal into analogue waves..."

Lets hope its that new form of silent music...
"You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really"

If Pimply Fred has in reality only one member and the band are going to split, perhaps I can help?
I have access to a very large axe. Nothing would please me more than burying it in him.
Tim that's awful, I do sympathise, "Simply Red Album Syndrome" is not a nice thing to get, but standing up and admitting this to us all is the first step on the road to recovery...I should know. I too have encountered this painful, traumatic scenario before, I too had a simply red album that appeared over night in my illustrious cd collection and I am very happy to say I survived by following these simple steps.
What you need to do is first locate said album, carefully pluck from shelf so as to not make a sound that may alert any females in the surrounding area, take album out to car, drive car to nearest cliff...if you are fortunate to live near the coast as I was then merely hide cd well away from view and walk to cliff edge. At this point you may want to say a few choice words, I particularly enjoyed tailoring some of Dick Fucknall's lyrics by repeatedly saying "i wont give it all up for you" whilst then throwing both cd and case as far as you possibly can, preferably into the sea thats crashing against the rocks below.
Be proud Timbob, for you are now cured!

Not a lot of cliffs over here.
Good point, another form of destruction is advised!
