Just found out about this... Truly shocking. Say what you want about the man, his legacy is absolutely massive and untouchable. He truly believed in what he was doing and that alone means that he deserves the respect of everyone.

Tony Wilson will indeed be missed...

Accidental or otherwise, the man was a genius.

I cannot imagine music nowadays without his influence. Do you think Warp, Ninja Tune etc would exist if he hadn't paved the way first?

A truly sad loss.

I kicked off with Step On by The Mondays at a charity gig I was playing at on Saturday night as a tribute to Tony, who used to live near to me before he moved back to Madchester.
