The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.
My sister had her 8th birthday party yesterday afternoon, and a DJ was hired to amuse 25 odd little brats.
Anyway amongst all the naff tunes like The Macarena, The Ketchup song and that DJ Otzi shite , the dj played Doctor Pressure.
To see those kids dancing to that was tops and my boyfriend and I just cracked up.
I didn't realise that he was playing two dates here. I knew about the Dublin gig but wtf is he doing in Carlow? It would be like he was playing London and then Leighton Buzzard

Theres a great story behind that, featuring a vigilant Walter and an email to the website to 'correct their mistake' as it were...
Walter = Da best

Yeah! And WHERE is he, haven't seen him at all on this new forum
I know, he isn't around all that much is he. Must've found some new internet friends to have fun with
Seriously though, I see him every now and again. Mainly at gigs. Last time i saw him (& Brian) was at the Electric Picnic Festival. We went to see Royksopp (& Kraftwerk- but lost him in the crowd). together. And he was in fine form.
I had a free ticket for Soulwax & 2 Many Djs last sunday. I was looking to give it away and was ringing walt at about midnight to see if he wanted to come in. Little did i know he was fast asleep.
Next scheduled show we're going to is Goldfrapp in february. I'm sure some gigs that we're both into will come up before then. They always do around christmas.
Funky Dung - Old Diary in finsbury Park, for a little while last year I djed there on a saturday night. Toughest gig I have ever had - trying to entertain 5-10 elderly gentlemen more interested in comparing the make of their pipes and the quality of their shag, then listening to music. some very unusual requests - "do you have the final countdown by europe, a-team theme tune, agadoo"
had to give it up in the end due to frustration at just how rubbish it was. my mate djed there on new years eve which is even sadder!!!!
Don't know why they're bothering in there. It's a decent enough pub - just put the freakin' jukebox on, or turn the sound up on the music TV that they have running on the big screens. Last thing anyone wants in there is some DJ trying to pretend he's playing on the terrace at Space. They just want a pint of lager and a pack of cheese and onion crisps, cheers mate. And have you got any menus? Ta.
