Thames Festival, London UK

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Unfortunately, I can't make it as I'll be in Rome that weekend, but that does sound fantastic!

I'm pretty sure that both Phil & Dog will go along, especially with Hexstatic there on a 45m x 25m screen beside the London Eye!!!

BTW, Robert Miles (he of "Children" fame) is also going to be there earlier on the day, and since it's free, it's probably worth an investigation...

Hexstatic, Audio Visual Set on River Thames

When: Saturday 17th September, 9 - 10pm
Where: The River Thames, next to London Eye as part of Mayor's Thames Festival
Price: Free!

Remember Hexstatic's?secret Audio Visual Guerilla gigs round various streets in London back in March? Well they're at it again, but this time its more official! The 2005 Mayor's Thames Festival?will transform the River Thames?and its surrounding parks and open spaces between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge with an extensive programme of free outdoor events over the weekend of Saturday 17 Sunday 18 September.? Last year over 300,000 people participated in the festival. Amongst other highlights, The wonder boys of AV, Hexstatic,? give a live set projected onto a huge 45m x 25m spray screen in the middle of the Thames. The show will feature freshly commissioned material, and existing material specially adapted to integrate with the river environment, and offers Hexstatic a unique opportunity to work on a monumental scale in an iconic location. They will be teaming up once again with Pod Bluman who has championed guerilla gigging over the last few years (remember Gail Porter's legs projected onto the Houses of Parliament?). Anyone who saw Hexstatic steal the show at this years Big Chill?will know this has to be the place to be!
