About the Middle of Nowhere Artwork.

Post by Timbob »

So i was talking with some other people on a dutch forum about Orbital, and we came upon the topic of the cover art for "The middle of nowhere", altho we all live in Holland, almost everybody had a different type of artwork..

for example, Mine has a grey circle printed over the walking figure:

like that, and the track listing is on the back / right and sideways.
the side of the cd is blank.

someone else had a shiny coating over it:

with the track listing on the same position as mine.

another one had the same grey ring as i did, but with the track listing on the side, and of course, someone had a white-ish ring with the track listing on the side.. But non of us had slipcases

then someone mentioned that the grey ring, and the track listing on the back was a miss print..

was the grey circle really a miss print? or the place of the track listing? and why where there so many different printings?
this just makes collecting a lot harder! :D
just wondering...

Ok, my copy has a slipcase with a shiny logo/walking man on the front (no text), blank back. Spine of the jewel case has tracklisting, back is blank, front upper right corner has copyright information, etc. This is the UK version, MoN was the first thing I bought on the internet.

i think that's the way it's ment to be printed :D
i think the grey circle is just ugly...
and nothing on the spine just makes is confusing in your cd collection..

Mine too!

Always liked the MoN artwork - reminded me of Boards of Canada for some reason (must have been the drugs I was taking at the time....)

I've always liked the circle logo...

I have half a plan to get it tattooed kind if in swirly blues and greens with kind of negative space stars.

That way it wouldn't be just an Orbital tattoo.
