Now Mint, i do believe you will be getting a reply to your post about your "smoothie" from the Smoothie moderator known as Memly...as i have a feeling what you propose is more of a milkshake (and a damn fine sounding one at that!!!) 8)

I've logged a complaint on the "Smoothie Hotline" and I do believe Beverley Melons will be personally looking into this...

I would expect formal letters have been drawn up to question the ingredients offered by Mint and the downright rude sweeping suggestion that all smoothie drinkers are old farts offered by Mr Stimpee.
The BSA has issued a statement on said slur and are currently seeking compensation...watch this space.

I should post some of the smoothie combinations from my favourite restaurant. If you're ever in Toronto and like veggie food, go to Fresh (used to be called Juice for Life). It's excellent, and by UK standards, dirt cheap.

Copy/pasting from the menu (I have one of their cookbooks at home, should look through for real combos/amounts of things):

I'm quite fond of the negril beach, blu lagoon, and zest for life. I should make my way through the menu trying them all :D

lady bug
strawberry, blueberry, apple

zest for life
kiwi, orange, pineapple

rise & shine
pink grapefruit, orange, strawberry

breathless
mango, strawberry, banana

dragonfly
raspberry, banana, apple

negril beach
mango, coconut milk, banana

blu lagoon
blueberry, mango, banana

first kiss
pineapple, strawberry, banana

pink flamingo
watermelon, strawberry, banana

apple pie (hot)
apple, banana, ginger, lemon, cinnamon

Well, I'm glad to say I've spoken to Beverley, and she is not impressed.

Her exact words were "I'm gonna tear mintsauce a new juice-hole".

Then we made violent love.

Why do most of those smoothies have banana in?

I like banana but it really destroys smoothies.

I can stand banana for half of a smoothie, but after a while it becomes the only thing I can taste.

I find the addition of Kiwi seems to help neutralise the banana dominance!

Meat based Smoothies are becoming more popular by all accounts. NOT as popular as the current "Seafood smoothies" offered around the south coast, mmm haddock and welch smoothie with some scrumpscious sea weed. Although they need to work harder on the amount of fish bones encountered. The BSA are trying to impose cigarette type warnings on Seasmoothies to warn their drinkers of the dangers contained in a cup of Seasmoothie.

I dont think the salt water helps things either, once you've drunk a cup of "Prawn and Weaverfish" you cant help but think that it has increased your thirst tenfold.

Forget the smoothies and get yourself some Turkish salgam. It's fermented, juice made out of black carrots, turnips, water, salt, chili and flour. It rocks. I bought about two litres of it with me to Finland... :)
