Big Chill - latest line-up

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Well, out of the bands and DJ's that have been announced so far (and the list is apparently very close to completion), these are the ones that I'm going to try and make:

Transit Kings
Hexstatic
Bent DJ's
The Ukele Orchestra Of Great Britain
Carl Craig
A Certain Ratio
Saint Ettienne
Xploding Plastix
Mad Professor Dub Show
Trojan Sound System

I would have added DJ Food to the list, but it looks like he's clashing with the Transit Kings...

Saw these 2 at Glade over the weekend and both were great.

Hexstatic played Dr Pressure, complete with wacky video - really good.

Carl Craig played some nice techno.

Other highlights of the weekend were AFX (danceable!), Speedy J (techno, techno, techno), Cassette Boy (v funny), Hybrid (Orbitalesque) and various other breaks acts in the Breaksday tent.

All in all, an excellent weekend (from what I can remember!).

You lot really should try to get there next year...

Friday looks like it's going to be a chilled day - with a bit of Bent DJ's and A Certain Ratio during the afternoon leading up to Carl Craig late at night :D

Saturday looks like it's going to be a close call to try and dash from the Open Air Stage (end of Transit Kings) to the Club Tent (for the start of Hexstatic)... Also, the Mad Professor Dub Show featuring Ariwa singers and MCs looks like they're going to clash with Hexstatic...

Sunday looks like it's going to be a chillout day, we've got the Ukele Orchestra Of Great Britain and I want to go and see "It's All Gone Pete Tong (the film)" :-)

Well, that's me sorted! 8)

Of course, any acts that I haven't mentioned above, we'll just discover (like the previous two years) :D

Theres loads and loads of stuff I'm looking forward to...
Hextatic, all the Ninja tune stuff, London Elektricity, The Bays, The Earlies (great album!), Carl Craig, Soul of Man, St Etienne, all the Trojan stuff... etc etc

I realise they will all clash, but if the sun's out and the JD is flowing, I will probably end up lying semi-conscious by the Live stage all weekend 8)

Yep, like the sound of the Transit Kings, but prefer to stay in the club tent and experience DJ Food and Bonobo before the mighty Hexstatic! There were loads of screens in that tent last year so it should be amazing! Here's hoping they do 'Dr Pressure'!

Are we all camping in the same place again? I need to tell my friends from home (Chill virgins) where we can meet them (assuming the mobile reception is as crap as last year), and the place where we campled last time was quite easy to find...
