It's the story of the Zephyr sakeboarding team in the 70s – Stacey Peralta, Tony Alva, Jay Adams, etc. Basically the guys who turned skateboarding from a knobby rollerskating-style thing into a super-cool rock & roll street surfing thing. Got Heath Ledger and some other people in it. I liked it – great soundtrack too.

No, Lords of Dogtown is the hollywooded version of Dogtown & Z Boys. It still looks go though. It'll be interesting to see how 'real' they kept it....
My last movie, Appleseed. Some of the best animation I've seen in a while.

No, it isn't. 'Dogtown and the Z-boys' is a documentary directed by Stacey Peralta (who was one of the original Z-boys). 'Lords Of Dogtown' is a movie version of the story, which was written by Stacey Peralta. Follows them setting up the team, developing the skating style, getting rich and famous, partying lots, falling out, being in comps, etc, etc. It's cool. "People say that alcohol's a drug. It's not a drug, it's a drink."
Not a film but I did end up watching the entire 4 series of the Adam and Joe Show on DVD last night and now I feel like a pesky tyke with impish overtones.
Must say had not heard about that one....
Will check it out... I still have my original Powell & Peralta "Bones" teeshirt that I might wear in honour...

Very well-made & acted, rather charming but a little cheesy, especially at the end.
The boys enjoyed it too but Joe said at the end, "I still prefer Revenge of the Sith"

The whole 4 series in one night? Man, even I can't cope with that. Drives me nuts after a while.
Best bits = Quizzlestick, Bob "Bobo" Hoskins song, and the Bobby DeNiro song. Oh yeah, and "Ball, ball, ball, footie, footie, footie".
