CAMBRIDGE - Loopz Pre-Gig Meet Up & Roll Call
Can anyone feel free to add suggestions for which pub they reckon would be a good place for Forum peeps to meet up before the gig. We'll see which places are most popular and then we'll choose the meet up venue. These have been immense fun in the past and a great chance to catch up with old friends and meet new people before going and shaking our collective asses off to Orbital Live.

We will be, yeah - gawd knows about pubs - there's several pubs apparently just opposite the venue, so aiming to be there between 6 and 6:30'ish...

Re: CAMBRIDGE - Loopz Pre-Gig Meet Up & Roll Call
Unfortunatly, I have absolutly no idea of any pubs in Cambridge. I'm probably not going to be very contactable today webwise, what with all the travelling, but if a choice is made I'l be on <edited>. I'll probably be in Cambridge around 6.30 ish myself.memly wrote:Anybody meeting up for this one?

Good to see you guys! Even if brief...
Loved it all, even the bit where it all went wrong.
Leggy, you might want to remove your number unless you want Dave Mac heavy breathing down the phone at you at 4 in the morning

Cambridge.
A car park you need a helicopter to get to. Always a good start.
Anyway.
The Corn Exchange.
Got in just before the Lads went on and the place was well near stuffed. I haven't stood that far back at an Orbital gig since the last one I worked of theirs in the Point in '02(?).
Proportionally, quite a high roof on a relatively narrow building is always going to produce interesting accoustics and here was no exception. The bass was bouncing off the solid brick walls like there was no one in the room. A rather glitchy start (and quick flash of ire from Paul) reminds you this is an Orbital gig where anything may happen but after what seemed like a nervy opening, things quickly settled down into the familiar patterns. There was one or two not quite perfect melds throughout but from where I was standing that seemed more a equipment issue rather than a personnel one. I won't go into the set in detail (look in the RAH review if you want that) but I will say the best version of Impact I have yet to hear was played here that night.
