Question for the AE fans
Ok so I have recently discovered the marvel that is "Amber"
I had delved a little into the juddery world of Autechre, but in all honesty I get lost in the countles layers of machine gun sounds and the odd rolling kickdrum...
I have Quaristice & Untilted but tbh they do nothing for me.
Are there any more albums that are in the vein of "Amber"??

Re: Question for the AE fans
Yip I'm more into the Amber Ae myself than the newer stuff.
I would suggest listening to the Incunabula & Tri Repetae albums and also the Garbage & Anti EP's if that helps you sir.

Re: Question for the AE fans
for me Incunabula is the best album by Autechre, then Amber and Tri Repetae. then its more 'repetae' and more noise, but still like it. last albums i dont like that much

Re: Question for the AE fans
The last one is not that great but they will be releasing a new one and will be out around March.
You can even pre order it from bleep now. I think this is something though look forward to because
it has to be good.

Re: Question for the AE fans
i never get my hopes up about new autechre. I still like them but the albums appear to be released and then get lost on the shelf. I hardly go back to the later material now...

Re: Question for the AE fans
I love the earlier stuff, but for me it's the likes of Confield (their best imo) Draft 7.30, Quaristice and Untilted that I find I like the most. LP 5 is another classic.
EP wise, I love the fantastic and epic Gantz Graf cd.
But hey, to each their own.

Re: Question for the AE fans
Amber is also my favorite AE album, followed closely by LP5. Montreal is still, and probably will forever be, my favorite autechre track. I did however really enjoy Untilted, probably because I saw the tour live set and it really clarified a lot of the concepts on each track for me.
Shanky, shanky Jose!

Have listened to some sample clips from the new tracks - not much change from last time in my view.
