Orbital @Big Chill - A Triumph!
Well.... Yet another night to file alongside 'one of the best evoh'.
Good to see all the old faces and a few new ones and my legs have now started to work again...
Excellent stuff from the boyz.

ditto.thought it was a great tight set. Just that new Satan sample and Satan intro that needs sorting. Was good to have familiar faces to share the experience again

What a gig, what a night, what a weekend? Thank you all for a memory to cherish.
Got back at 6.30 this morning. Still in recovery mode... real life is not all 'tis cracked up to be.
Sorry if I seemed rude leaving without saying good-bye. There are reasons however.
Loopz, you have the set list wrong on the tour page.

Yeah. You've missed a track in the middle of the set. Won't say which as it'd be a spoiler.

It was an amazing gig, and so good to see both Phil and Paul just dancing around and grinning for the entire set.
I'd also like to say that the rest of the Big Chill weekend was pretty, what's the word i'm looking for?...ah yes...SPECIAL.
A lot of the fun was down once again to spending it with a lot of the good people on this very forum, who never fail to surprise me with their geniality, friendliness, humour and benevolence...except of course for Philmanns...
The festival would not have been anywhere near the same had we not all meet up via this forum over the years so thanks should also go to Loopz himself, and it was great seeing you again Steve.
Legspin, shame didn't get to say goodbye but it was great to get to know you properly at this festival and i'll be over (near) your neck of the woods tomorrow.
And I feel sorry for the almighty Ginger Bearded One (Kagey) who had to drive from Liverpool to London for work today...ouch!
Enough of the soppiness now but it was without doubt one of the best festival experiences i've ever had. From the Thursday night zombie mudfest right through to the Sunday night Trannie Disco which some of us found ourselves in till 4am Monday morning (because it was the only thing that was still going and we didnt want to go home).
24Hour Bacon Barn...where are you now??????????

Re: Orbital @Big Chill - A Triumph!
I must say that was one of my favourite ever Orbital gigs... the set had progressed so much since Brighton (and even that was awesome). Agreed on how tight it all was. Breathtaking.
Sorry I missed the meet, but was dancing to Justin Robertson and loving the anticipation of it all.
Although I did briefly see Philmanns, Jof and Dave Mac (apologies, I was quite battered
), great weekend, Alice Russell, Hextatic and Chris Cunningham were also very good.

Re: Orbital @Big Chill - A Triumph!
i'm really sorry i didn't meet up with you all, as expected it was challenging enough keeping track of the people i went with/my marbles.
had a totally fantastic weekend tho, and orbital's set really was special. i wish i could remember it just a bit more clearly, but i loved every minute of it. i'd been curious to see what they would do with halcyon, the extended midsection was a nice result
the only other time i've seen them was glasto '04, which i did thoroughly enjoy, but this time around was so much better, flowing the tracks together and all that. i feel like i've seen them do it properly now
just wish i had the pennies to catch them again on the upcoming tour...

and yes, alice russell is awesome. i couldn't quite squeeze her into my schedule on saturday, but i've seen her several times before, with quantic soul orchestra and doing her own thing. such a massive voice for such a tiny lady

Legspin, sorry we didn't get to say goodbye, as always when we meet it was an absolute pleasure. Mat- it was indeed very special
Made all the more special by the late night wanderings into the tranny tent.
I kid you not people a sight most certainly to behold at 4am on a Monday morning!! Our little camp was great thanks to all for such an awesome hoopla hooping, Zommbie spotting Tranny Filled and P.C. fuelled weekend, The lezzers are still giggling at monkey noises outside the tent and pubic display's in very small portaloo's. I haven’t seen John for a whole 4 day's now and fear he may be lost.... has anyone seen John? .......... Mat? Joff?

Re: Orbital @Big Chill - A Triumph!
Slight spoiler alert !!!
Right, it has been over a week since Saturday night and I have had time to reflect and ruminate on the gig.
Brilliant gig with two small critisisms.
1) Know Where to Run does not kick off like it should in the middle. I thought at the time it was too slow. Looking at the clips on youtube however, it is faster than I recall but it still does not have the bridge that has it banned from the car.
2) With the catalogue that they have, finishing with Dr ? is a bit of a let down. They have better finishers imo
Ah well...
As always, all opinions and ideas are completly open to debate and re-buttal.
