i've said it before, and I'll say it again: there's not a bad game in the wipeout main series. Wipeouts 1-3 on PS1 were fabulous, and Fusion was almost as good.
And now PSP seems to be rocking...

Just to be clear, I never said that Paul should/might use Bigbeat-beats (Orbital never used them either, except for Big Pipe Style). I just said that I was an oldskool Bigbeat-lover at heart and meant that I like my beats best with a bit of oomph (yes there's that word again
).
And yes, having heard a low-quality version of Hoover (or is it Dr. Hoover?), Phil seems to be taking care of that side of things very well...
Hopefully they both just keep on doing what they're doing at the moment and I'll be a happy man.

Big pipe style is one hell of a great song!

Well, I'm not, if you were reffering to me.I think people are getting their genres crossed here. Big Beat isn't the same as Breakbeat...

Indeed it is!But then again
Big pipe style is one hell of a great song!

I think there are already a bunch of 'em, since Bigbeat, Acid Breaks and Chemical Breaks are all very commonly used in action movies.imagine a movie with only bigbeats as a score.

Well, it was incorrectly labelled as bagpipe style on a rare, early acetate...

re: the sinner
the sinner ROXX!
and yea, it might nearly be big beat, although it could be categorised as house (or maybe hard-/whatever-house) more aptly. I mean, it's a proper 12" mix innit?

re: househouse
timbob, I don't really know nor want to argue over the point... But I guess house means many things, and its meaning has changed over the years... I guess Orbital are kind of house, but I wouldn't go on categorizing their production as (mainly) house, just as I wouldn't categorize LFO (anymore!) as house, even though in the early 90's Mark Bell asked "What is House?..."
today I think of Sasha, Norman Cook, Moloko etc. as housey-housey... it's more particular today, perhaps, as distinguised from a catch-all term (except maybe in the press, and on BBC)?
But hard-house is another f*king matter and... *sigh* ... it's complicated!
... But back to topic!!! I just heard Ignition on full glory, and it sounds EXCELLENT, the way it develops and rolls! Oh yes, quite charming, even if it sounds like it's (obviously) made for background listening. Could be longer. But many elements flow together nicely. yes, I like. It's definitely on par with Blue Album material - I like it more than Tunnel Vision as it is.

Thats some statement Kansler.
Tunnel Vision is one of my fav tracks off of Blue, I didnt think Ignition sounded like tunnel vision but each to their own. To be honest, I've only heard it a handfull of times, as I mentioned before, I think it would complement Wipeout but as a stand alone track I don't really rate it.
Dr Hoover on the other hand....
