It's 106 miles to Chicago.
We got a full tank of gas,
half a pack of cigarettes.
It's dark and we are wearing sunglasses

Re: What's The Last Film You Watched?
Sorry for the lengthy review I wrote elsewhere, but it seems no-one had mentioned it here...
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
First, some context: despite being really fond of all three Jones movies, I am not an obsessive fanboy, and I certainly didn't get my hopes up during the build-up.
But 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' was a huge disappointment.
Everything about the film is misjudged and overcooked. The story is overcomplicated which means all the dialogue feels like rushed exposition, which in turn leads to virtually zero character development. Ford's Indy suffers from this, but the other lead characters fair less well. Shia LaBeouf has half the lines needed for a spunky sidekick, John Hurt plays a stock character from the Big Book Of Quirky English Acting, Blanchett does the same but with a foreign accent, and Ray Winstone actually re-enacts an entire scene from 'The Mummy'. Only Karen Allen brings anything interesting to the table and when she appears there is a taste of what made 'Raiders' so good... If only she had been introduced earlier.
The action sequences are overdesigned and effects-heavy, the characters having almost superhuman powers of survival, which removes all peril and drama. The rumours about extensive physical effects are puzzling, given the sheer amount of very obvious CG built into many sequences which negates any traditional work - the reason you can tell? - they do the impossible. As for the story, you will require more suspension of belief than all three Indy movies put together to go along with it.
I don't know whether Lucas, Speilberg or the Aztec Gods are to blame, but if you thought there was anything wrong with the Star Wars prequels, chances are you'll think the same here. All the talk of letting down the fans may be hyperbolic geek-speak, but in reality this film shames itself. It is everything that is wrong with contemporary blockbusters and film-makers with too much money.

"return of the living dead". not that good tbh.
yesterday i watched "fido", which was pretty decent, quite funny - and i didn't realise it was billy connoly playing fido
i also watched "evil dead 2", which was, as expected, pretty awesome.

They were on some dodgy satellite channel called "Zone - Horror".
I dont think I would have bought any of them though...
... it was more a comment of how much the budgets were for each movie.

well. i thought the first one was quite interesting. as it did something new. more psychological horror than just gore and all. it wasn't perfect, but still.
the next 2 where trying to explain the "world behind". and that's just something you shouldn't do with a movie like that.
