Long Range at Beachdown - what happened ?

Have just come back from the beachdown festival in Brighton, where Long Range were set to headline
on the Friday night. Imagine my disappointment when a replacement act played instead ! I asked a sound
engineer what happened, and he told me that long range had apparently split up on the friday morning . Can
anyone else shed any light on this, and hopefully dispell this rumour ?

From the Solfest forum:

Here is a direct quote which we received, by email, from Long Range's agent, just two days before the start of Solfest 2008:

"I've just been informed that Phil Hartnoll has left Long Range and gone AWOL
- nobody can get hold of him.

Therefore they will have to cancel the show on Sunday"
