What Are You Listening To Now?

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Mr Scruff - Chicken In A Box (from the newly reissued Mrs Cruff CD)

Very nice, the main bit reminds me of Daft Punk :P

Alexander Kowalski - 'Belo Horizonte'

Still an amazingly lush piece of techno. Still amazing how this man makes music that you hear slightly higher up in your ear than anyone else's.

Kowalski's made some amazing rekkidz but saw him live about 18 months ago and he was absolute gash.A real shame as 'Belo Horizonte' is one of the best techno tunes I've heard in recent years.

No shit, I've actually heard a tune out and known it must be by Kowalski (it was) because it activated part of my ears that no other producer does. Like, these really sharp, clear, swooshy frequencies that nobody else seems to be able to use. Weirrrrd.

Now listening to:

Juliet - 'Avalon'

110% excellent Stuart Price production off a very cool debut album.

excellent cover version. it's a new dawn it's a new day etc.
just got their new album, "pushin on" - another annoyingly short but bloody excellent album. also their cover of "get a move on" has finally been commited to cd/vinyl, apparently at the personal request of mr scruff

I'm home sick, feeling really crappy, and listening to the new Mars Volta album - 'Frances The Mute' which is getting me back into do-some-fooking-homework mode... :?

Next up is Amon Tobin - Permutation, there's a track on there called 'Bridge' and it gets me in the groove, swingin' jazz stylee but with Amon's secret darkness. 8)

Stabilizer - Canine

great album!
"You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really"
