I usually use a combination of ketchup, mustard and chilisauce.

Chili is the best overall, but ketchup does more to sandwiches so I went with that...

I've had the after death one and it's pretty rockin'.

Habaneros are also always a nice treat.

I am a fan of hot and spicy, but I think all of those sauces listed would be too hardcore for me!!

I'm not sure I like this "Mayo Massive" thing thats arising here....
I think its bloody horrible! More of a salad cream man myself.
Am surprised no-one else has gone with mustard!

Erm, I have never understood the Dutch facination with warm runny peanut butter. And then to put on chips......

Now dont get me wrong i like a bit of spiciness....but on a recent trip to Amsterdam i found my limits of spiciness....no not in the the more exotic areas the dam has to offer but in a take away, where i literally thought i was putting salsa sauce on my Falafels, so i loaded up on it...only to literally roast my taste buds, brain and vocal chords on some seriously hot chilli concoction!!!! Probably given the trade name of 'lava sauce'

It was that funny for all around me the owner of said take away phoned his mate to tell him about what i had done and take the piss out of me in Dutch....waving as we left (i couldnt walk)

Oh it really does depend on what's in the sandwich.

Ketchup - only mixed with mayo for prawns / avocado
Brown Sauce - in sausgages and fried egg sandwiches
Mustard - with cheese, beef & ham
Mayonnaise - usually use it instead of butter
Salad cream - yummy with chicken but not much else
Pickle - s'ok. Only like it if I get the homemade ones from little old ladies selling it @ summer fayres.
Chili Sauce - NEVER

Other - hmmm there's this lovely South African sweet tomato chutney. Also if I'm having a cheese sarney, you can't go wrong with a bit of coleslaw.

Heh Willsy, I've learned a long time a go to always try any chilisauce before loading up on it

. For example the more hardcore deathsauces on the site I posted would probably kill you if you'd soak something in them (I wonder how they can legally sell that stuff).

A friend of mine whose taste buds aren't as masochistic as mine tasted the after death sauce with the tip of his finger in home ec class a long time a go and he literally ran to the food storage room and ate about two kilograms worth of crackers in one go to ease the pain.

The most painful chili-experience I've ever had was in Thailand, where I ordered the hottest meal in the restaurant (I think it was some red curry dish) which had a warning next to it on the menu... Then my dad did an evil trick for me and asked the waiter if they could make it twice as hot as usual, and they laughed and said "sure". What I got in front of me was a big bowl of soup filled with whole, small (since they're hotter) red chilipeppers and a bunch of pepperclusters.

There was maybe one piece of meat somewhere in there, but it was practically pure hotness. To show my dad, I ate the whole damn thing and I had water pouring out of my eyes, nostrils and mouth. The waiter kept laughing the whole time as I was eating it. Not surprisingly the next couple of days were spent in the loo...

Oh and mayo sucks.

im into sweet chili sauce these days.. but i absolutely LOVE pickle.. and yes branston pickle is the best. was is one of them international food shops in amsterdam (import) and bought it yum yum yum (and that means : no, we can't buy it in the 'normal' supermarkets here) bloody holland

the barbecue tomato sauce from asda is lovely too.. i miss it

1. Take slice of bread
2. Open Brown Sauce bottle and apply liberally to bread.
3. Fold bread in half.
4. Enjoy!
