"You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really"

Definately check out Hafdis Huld then, also from Iceland (she used to sing with Gus gus & FC Kahuna).
She is on myspace http://myspace.com/hafdishuld and does a cracking cover of 'who loves the sun'
Currently listening to just that

Bob Marley - The Yvette Acoustic Tape.
'snice.Recorded in one of Bob's girlfriend's houses this tape includes many songs that Bob never released and some that would become some of his most famous classics. The mood is really relaxed and Bob seems to be in a really great mood often laughing out loud at some of the things he is singing. He then gets a bit more serious with the deeply religious God of All Ages where he is accompanied by the heartbeat rhythm of a bongo drum. Rumors is also another great highlight featuring some fantastic vocal form. Bob on this tape also composes some of jammin as well as a very early rendition of Easy Skanking. He also chats a bit between songs about opening a hospital
in Ethiopia. The tape closes out with Oh What a Day, which is a long very early version of what would become Misty Morning.
dance your cares away, worries for another day

Listening to Ulrich Schnauss new album, no doubt this is a very strong contender for album of the year.
Schnauss magic lies in his ability to do a track like "Shine" that on the surface appears like pure cheese, but he twists and turns the arrangements so that by the end I am left positively gobsmacked.
I'm just amazed at how he manages to rise his level. He has put out some fantastic CD's before, but "Goodbye" is propably his best effort to date. The guy is a genius, no doubt about it!
