Need help identifying "Octane" end credit song???

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Need help identifying "Octane" end credit song???

Post by bartlo »

Question for you Orbital fans, sorry if this has been discussed previously, but being rather unfamiliar with Orbital, I loved the song played during the end credits of the film "Octane." I'm going crazy trying to find it. I know they scored the film, but when I heard the sample songs from the movie soundtrack I couldn't identify the end credit song as being on the soundtrack. I remember this sounding like a song or mix. Is this piece perhaps on another Orbital album or is it on the soundtrack and the sample listening file contains 30 seconds of what I don't remember hearing. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks Willsy, I checked it out, and although informative with better samples, it still wasn't anywhere there. Maybe it's this remix of "initiation" they talked about. Now I've got to rent the movie again cause it's killing me. This song during the credits was atmospheric with a steady driving beat with what sounded like the use of some minor chords. Everything I've heard on the soundtrack is background music for sequences in the film. Thank you for the link though.

Yeah, it's 'Initiation (Remix)' in the end credits...

Downloaded every edition of Initiation, including remix, and it wasn't it, not even close (maybe initiation played right after this song?). I guess I'll have to rent that sucker again to try and figure it out. Thanks for all your help though guys.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen the film since I saw it in the cinema (when it first came out), and I'm hoping not to see it again (it is dreadful!)... Only decent thing on there was the music!

IMDB also says that they use the track F.E.A.R. from ian brown in the film
i haven't seen it, so i don't know if it's in the end credits.

But it's a great track anyway :D

You nailed it Timbob, F.E.A.R by Ian Brown. thats sounds like it. I didn't remember words in the song and thought Orbital did all of the music so I assumed it was them. Thanks for your help, mystery solved.

They used a remix of "FEAR" for the end credits to Octane. Dunno who did it, though. It's better than the original version in my opinion.
