Those long shots where amazing!
you watch them, staring intensely at all the things happening, and after a cut you realize that it was one hell of a long scene!
That one in the car was long! how did they do that with the camera
I have absolutely no idea but it is definitely one that u have to watch again cus u miss bits. I agree that the car one is extraordinary
there's another one near the end (trying not to spoil) that goes through several buildings / cars etc.
but i did notice that there's something splashing on the camera lens, and that magically disappears... hmm
still great filming.
It's 106 miles to Chicago.
We got a full tank of gas,
half a pack of cigarettes.
It's dark and we are wearing sunglasses
"its da bandit, and the sonofabitch has got my fish..."
Quality, that completes the trilogy!
"You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really"

Bit of an impluse purchase from Tesco yesterday but i really enjoyed it. Thought the explosions in the fight scenes were just awesome, the first made me jump and chuck beer in my lap!!!

Ha ha I couldn't even finish watching that! I got it as it was recommended by the people in Lamb - think it inspired some of their videos or something!
Watched Babel the other day (actually I thought I'd already posted about this but can't see it.)
Was brilliant as always for Alejandro González Iñárritu - the director of Amores Peros & 21 Grams. Lots of parallel stories that all end up having a common link, so well done. A powerful advert against guns too!
I don't use Myspace anymore, you'll find me on Facebook ;-b
The latest offering from Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream), this millennia-spanning tale is intelligent, epic science fiction with a genuine emotive core. There are multiple layers of narrative, skipping back and forth in time, but the film never loses coherance. Hugh Jackman is very engaging as a man driven by obession and love across thousands of years.
The most outstanding aspect of the film is the visuals. Each frame is masterfully composed like a moving graphic-novel panel, saturated with colour tones and light. The special effects are awe-inspiring yet subtle; none of the usual CGI overkill is evident here. Aronofsky's direction is creative and artistic without being intrusive, creating a sort of visual poetry.
More cynical viewers may criticise the film as pretentious, and while this is not unfair, the epic scale and ambiguity is inspiring rather than worthy. This won't be for everyone; the pace is thoughtful, and the vast timespan may alienate some, but there has not been such an ambitious science fiction film for quite some time.
Brilliant stuff, really funny! Did not disappoint at all! Watched it with my brother who is a copper!! Apparently Sandford is the fictional place that is talked about in their police training!
