From Nick Franglen on the Lemon Jelly forum:
"Well hello there, long time etc!
Me and good ole Mr Fred have a London show coming up, who'd have thought it. It's not a Lemon Jelly show as such (we're not playing any Jelly) but rather a specially created audio-visual delight:
Deakin And Franglen Present Inventions Of The Abstract
at the Optronica Festival on March 14th
...at the Imax cinema in Waterloo. Yup, Europe's largest screen will soon be pulsing to... to... well, we're not exactly sure what it'll be because we're in the middle of working on it now, but it'll be pulsing to something pretty bloody special, that's for bloody sure, bloody hell yes - it's not just going to be me and Fred with a couple of maracas waving a maglight around. (*thinks - now there's a thought...)
It's all new abstract animations with new music that we'll be performing live on the night, so you'd have to be barking mad to miss it. See you there...
Big Glove all round,
Nick x"

More info:
"Presenting IOTA: Inventions of the Abstract, Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen take time out from their Lemon Jelly day jobs to create a new project exploring the relationship between abstract pattern animation and loop based musical experiments, inspired visually by the Op Art of the Sixties & Seventies and musically by various ambient soundscapes of the same era.
The elusive duo of Franglen and Deakin were childhood friends but did not form down-tempo electronic act Lemon Jelly until 1997.
Before this, Franglen composed music for adverts and occasionally for film and TV soundtracks, he also contributed his keyboard and drum programming skills to projects by Björk, Primal Scream and Blur.
Meanwhile Deakin's background was as a club DJ (the wacky "Impotent Fury") but he also worked as a designer and illustrator for magazines such as The Face and Nova and indeed, his bold designs grace the sleeves of all Lemon Jelly's releases.
This World Premiere performance of their hour long piece, designed specifically for the IMAX environment, will be performed and improvised live by the duo; their intention is that it'll be a "full-on" experience! So hold tight!! "

You have to select the ticket that says 'IOTA' and 'RGBPM' (Wednesday 14th March as part of Optronica 2007). It's *NOT* under either Lemon Jelly or Deakin & Franglen, as their pseudonym is 'IOTA'.jezza101 wrote:looks interesting, I couldnt see tickets available on the BFI site though, any chance you could point me in the right direction? Or has it sold out , or did you buy them over the counter?!
Hope that helps?
