Song ID please!!

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Song ID please!!

Post by andyneilg »

Hi. I heard a tune on Frazier(Channel 4) recently that I recognise but can't identify. To me it sounds very Tangerine Dreamy, a sequencer led late 70s/early 80s mood piece.

I managed to rip it to mp3 but can't host it on the internet so if anyone would like a go at identifying it I can email it to you if you post your addy here. It's 2MB and recorded from the tv show so there is some 'crowd noise from the programme' on it.

I would be very grateful if anyone could help me. DogSolitude, it sounds like your type of thing!!

Thanks again,

Andy

I think it sounds like The Who from around the 70s. If you watch Quadrophenia you will hear the same kind of thang! I handed around to the department and 3 had no idea and the other thought The Who as well.

Ok, thanks for your time and efforts Steve. I will investigate The Who's back cat now. I'll enjoy that!!

My favourite synthy Who "mood piece" is Eminence Front, so check that out first. Even if it's not the one you're after, it's total awesomeness.
