Eric Prydz vs Pink Floyd

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Eric Prydz vs Pink Floyd

Post by Willsy »

Should this really be allowed?

Felt the Scissor sisters, just and I mean just by the smallest amount, got away with their version of Comfortably Numb a few years ago.....bit this, surely not! Its awful IMO.

Why have the Floyd allowed this crap to be made??

It's a bit plain for Eric Prydz. He's made some fantastic tunes in the last couple of years, and I thought he would have put a bit more effort into this one. Decent enough backing track (the dub mix is pretty good) but the Pink Floyd sample doesn't really fit on top. Still, it could have been a lot worse.

Sorry but its not right. You cant do that to a classic.
Agree with Dung that the sample doesnt seem to fit to well.
You look real great.

I don't particualrly mind it although I am getting a bit sick of hearing it.

Prydz has made some phenomenal records this year,though......Pryda 'remember' and Cirez D 'Mouseville theme' show a bit more of what he's really about.

I've got three or four other remixes of Another Brick In The Wall that are all considerably better.

Just heard it on the telly and didn't think much of it. Not bad, but nothing mindblowing either. Then again, I never understood what the big deal was with the original, and I also fully agree with phil's comment (all music is indeed here for us to copulate with). :P

In other news: I'm most likely seeing mr. Prydz playing next weekend, if I can just cough up the dough.

and you are perfectly within your rights to think that :)

i was never really a huge fan of it first time round so this version appeals more to me, although i can see i'll be fed up with it by the time its been plaid to death. there is much better floyd out there than brick.
