Screamixadelica - Primal Scream Remixed

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Well before the obvious and deserved 'plugging' jibes come in thick and fast I would just like to say... Whoah this looks good :P

Screamadelica is a classic IMO and I am interested in hearing this.
I have too much new music to sift through at the moment...

i'll give it a listen. torrent is coming in fast... whereas there were a lot of people saying that the prodigy and chem bros albums NEEDED remixing, its certainly not the case with this one so i hope its not a mess! i shall listen with open ears and an open mind...

I haven't listened to the remix yet, but I reckon it's not before time - the record is, indeed fantastico, but I've heard it so many times that it's got a tad, err, stale <ducks under desk>. I'm all for it...

This one wasn't done to make an impact like the Prodigy or the Chems... We did this one because it's a classic and we wanted to update it...

To be honest, you probably won't like all of the remixes and 'Loaded' is certainly an acquired taste, but then I rate Josh as one of the serious talents for the future, so I'm biased about his effort. Plus he pretty much filled someone elses' shoes at the 11th hour 59th minute...

Remix of the album for me has to be Tone's sublime mix of 'Higher Than The Sun'... Gorgeous.

Yet again I'm exposing myself as a luddite, but...I've downloaded the torrent software and the music file (which takes only about a second), clicked on file - nothing. Any ideas??

You need a torrent client like Azureus. Download it, run it, then download the torrent file and save the incoming data somewhere.

When it's complete, you'll have the album.

Thanks Dog, it's now downloaded but won't play because of a 'corruption' in the files. Will carry on trying.

Had a couple of listens to it - got to say it's hard to look at it subjectively cause Screamadelica is such a classic.

Why do the Inner Flight and Damaged remixes remind me of Erasure?

Liked the Towers of Dub bassline Dog, but the mix sounds "too hollow" for my taste - love my dub to blow the speakers!

BTW - I had heard that there was a version of the Blue Album remixes in the works about 11 months ago.....

Saw this project mentioned in the Toronto Star today.
PRIMAL SCREAM, "Screamadelica (2005 Skreamadelikka mix)"

The latest in a series of influential British albums to be graced with a top-to-bottom makeover by some of mash-up's most creative practitioners — its predecessors include The Clash's London Calling and Blur's Parklife — this boasts superior treatments by Soundhog, Cry.On.My.Console and, on this title track, Go Home Productions' inestimable Mark Vidler. Well worth the hard-drive space (and the suggested donation to charity). (http://www.primalscreamremixed.com)
