Is this the REAL season 5 of 'Futurama' or the one that is actually season 4? There were episodes labelled on the web as s5, but they're on the s4 DVDs. AFAIK, s5 has never been released.

They're planning a 'Futurama' film though too...

as far as i know, season 5 of futurama hasn't been made, let alone released. but yeah last i heard was that they were going to do two feature-length films 8)

The story I've been told is that half of it was premiered on Fox in the US, then it got cancelled, so the other half has been saved for a new season which has apparently been commissioned, as well as the movie.

I heard they were halfway through making season 5 when Groening royally pissed off Fox with 'The Simpsons' and so they canned 'Futurama' as a result, knowing that they couldn't axe 'The Simpsons'...

Season 5 was completed, but has never been aired.

'Family Guy' got canned too... and then Fox brought it back due to public demand ;)

yeah i'm hoping that if the feature-length futuramas sell well, they'll decide it's in their best financial interests to put season 5 out...
