This was the best BC so far for me and Rach. A good line up and hardly anything clashed. Tom Middleton's Amba project was outstanding. Performed with the help of a 15 piece orchestra, the man is a genius.
Other great acts for us were:
Digitonal, who finished off their set with Kirsty Hawkshaw singing "Maris Stella" and cleverly working in Opus III's "It's a fine day";
Shadow Orchestra who are in the same vein as Digitonal but with a bit more oomph;
Longrange - this was the first time we have heard them and we were suitably impressed with Mr Hartnoll's new project;
Jon Hopkins - hard to describe his genre of music as he goes from quite beaty electronica to ambient piano, but very catchy music and well worth a listen;
Coldcut - outstanding VJ set as you would expect with lots of stuff we haven't seen before;
Psapp - they have an obsession with cats and funny noises (over to Kagey for a more professional description lol);
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - doing their own interpretation of various pop classics ranging from Status Quo's "Sweet Caroline" to Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit";
Express2 - a great set including some old faves;
Norman Jay and Freelance Hellraiser did blinding sets and the Blue Man Group were as funny as f#ck. A must see for everyone
A great festival although we mirror Philmann's comments about the numbers. If they keep increasing them the festival will loose its purpose.
