Orbital / Underworld / Prog mashup

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Orbital / Underworld / Prog mashup

Post by stimpee »

A friend of mine, Marshall Watson has made a nice little mashup featuring Orbital, Underworld and others that I thought you might want to hear. From the horse's mouth:

"the following tracks were used to make this "tune"

Little Bullet, High Velocity Mix: Spooky
Sound System: Drum Club, Underworld Mix
Halcyon: Orbital
Impact: Orbital
Embracing the Sunshine: BT, Sasha Mix
Prayer to the Music: Marco Polo: Digweed Mix
Cowgirl: Underworld

My own beats too"

comment at dirty.org: "Overall, nice! Some thoughts on first listen: ...you find a nice groove by 4 min. i can hear the elements of the tracks you sampled, but you've disguised them nicely with your production, so nothing seems obvious. In other words, it becomes your own track rather than being the mother of all remixes! ...the music flows great and i applaud your treatment of these classics in making them into something new!"

which is kinda what I feel about it too. Its lush. These things are generally only online for a week or two before being removed so grab it now if youre interested. Size 12,5mb, duration 9mins.

Yeah he has done a lovely job. Sounds very fresh and to be honest it isnt too obvious what he has sampled. :)

Some samples do jump out at you, but not volume wise, just that being a fan, you spot them instantly.

It is a lovely piece of music though...
