The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.
As the subject says... (took this idea from another forum)
Here's mine:
Aphex Twin Banco De Gaia Chemical Brothers Daft Punk Etnica Future Sound of London Global Communication Hybrid Infusion Juno Reactor Kraftwerk Leftfield Meat Beat Manifesto N.R.G. Orbital Prodigy Quinoline Yellow Röyksopp Squarepusher Transglobal Undeground Utah Saints Vangelis Way Out West X? Yellow Magic Orchestra Z?
I tried to keep my list electronic, but that's no rule. For some of the letters I had to really stretch it and others seemed to just have too many good artists associated with them.
A-ha (Aphex Twin close second... ) Boards of Canada Chemical Brothers (first album only) Depeche Mode Empirion Front Line Assembly Global Communication Hybrid Instrumental (can't really think of anyone else - that is, I have no other artists starting with "i" in iTunes. ) Juno Reactor (I guess. Only other candidate is Jaga Jazzist) KLF Leftfield Massive Attack New Order Orbital Prodigy (first two albums, Pet Shop Boys and Primal Scream in hard pursuit)
¿Qué? I have no idea. Queen, I guess, although I don't like them. Röyksopp (Rammstein in close second) Schnauss, Ulrich Tenacious D Ugress Various Artists (no idea) Way Out West Xploding Plastix Yello Zetlitz, Bertine

Some people don't get the Transformers. It's simple. They're big robots. And they change into things. And they fight. This is beautiful and mad. If you do not get this, there is something missing in your soul. - Paul O'Brien

I'm gonna be slightly different and list the names of the artists that I have most in my collection and not necessarily be my favourite. I recently alphabetispaghettisised my cds so this might not be representative of my favourites at the moment. Blah blah blah.

I would have thought that Orbital would be taken as given .
Also to be honest, it was the discovering of the Ozrics that took me away from being a rock and metal head and led down the road of what I listen to now. So in terms of pure influence they would be much more important to me, 'coz without them there would be at least a lot less of the electronica and mellowness that inhabits my cd collection than there is
This'll probably change - just a brain dump at the moment...
