Kraftwerk "Evolution", new album in 2006?

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Kraftwerk "Evolution", new album in 2006?

Post by Numanoid »

I've seen a rumour going round now that a new album called "Evolution" is set to appear in 2006.

Could be a joke, but one can always hope 8)

A friend of mine in another forum who always seems to know the latest info about Kraftwerk and who has been a reliable source so far told me the news. The picture is supposedly a mouse-pad being sold by the official Kraftwerk shop.

Based on previous experiences I take every news about new albums from Kraftwerk with a pinch of salt though. I did a Google search of "kraftwerk evolution", that gave me nothing. So I don't know what to believe. That mouse-pad picture could easily be a piss-take, it's a bit too obvious IMO.

But one can always hope. I really liked TDF2003, it was well worth the long wait.

Nah, the more I think of this, the more I realise it's a hoax. To be honest, if we get another Kraftwerk album at all, I think we'll be lucky...

I need to see them live for a first time!!

Pretty obvious the "new album" is a hoax. Shame, love that graphic. Have loved them since a friend played Computer World lp to me in 1981 and we learned how to count to 8 in various languages (we were 12 at the time!)

If we follow the 12ish year gap between The Mix and TDFS, then they'll be HOW OLD!!?? when they record the next album!!

DogS, don't say we'll never get another album though, the thought physically hurts me more than the lack of a new Orbital one!

Andy

PS at least we've got the remastered back cat to look forward to!

Tracing the rumour, here is another piece in the puzzle

Dirk Matten who is "hobnobing" with the lads in the band seems to be the source.

For those who can read german (sadly I can't :( ), there is a discussion going on here

I've only seen them live once, in Oslo in '91 on "The Mix" tour. A fantastic evening :D
