It's 106 miles to Chicago.
We got a full tank of gas,
half a pack of cigarettes.
It's dark and we are wearing sunglasses

So when people are out at a pub that has a late licence, and say they've had enough by 3am, how are they getting home??
I'm not saying all people will drink drive, but you cant ignore the fact that some people are willing to risk it.
The average person is less likely to do it if they can get home using public transport instead of shelling out x amounts of pounds on a cab, or thinking that they arent that pissed and are willing to take the risk.
so how far do you take this culture that we live in that is constantly trying to protect ourselves from ourselves? It's all bollocks. legalise everything with regards to drink & drugs. people know the risks, it's up to them to deal with the outcome. and if someone is going to drink and drive, they could make that choice at 11pm or 3am, the licensing rules are not gonna dictate whether they decide to do it or not.

A good friend of mine, I learned yesterday, drank a bottle and a half of port then drove home afterwards. I gave her a right fucking bollocking. Then again, I live 5 minutes from the pub, so it's easy for me to be holier than thou...
Slugs! HE created slugs! They can't hear. They can't speak. They can't operate machinery. Are we not in the hands of a lunatic?
