The Evening Mail score update indicates that the half time score was Derby 2 Villa 1 and the team lineup mentioned McQueen and not Woolley.

This match needs to be re-checked as i have no record of it in the Manchester Guardian and Derby played Wolves in a league match on the 26th October. The Derby Daily Telegraph will be used to resolve this.

4th February 1896

Birmingham Evening Mail

On the front page in the Notes and News section of the Evening Mail:-

"The death is announced of Albert Woolley, who for a time played such fine football in the forward rank of Aston Villa team. Woolley who was so well coached by Hodgetts never (word unknown) a vigorous constitution and football did him (word unknown) little good. Yet his heart was in the game and it is recorded that almost the last question he asked was "Have the Villa won at Derby?". The strict regime of League Football is not for men of Woolley's physique"

Birmingham Evening Mail

4th February continued...

Further on before the Sporting Items section:-

DEATH OF ALBERT WOOLLEY
"The death is announced of Albert Woolley, the once clever outside left forward of the Aston Villa team, which took place at the residence of his parents, Moss Side., Manchester yesterday morning. Woolley came to the Villa from a junior club, Park Mills and under the able tuition of Hodgetts rapidly developed into one of the finest left wing forwards in the country. He was one of the best shots at goal from an outside position the Villa ever had and quickly became a favourite with the Birmingham crowd. Unfortunately a chill contracted whilst a student at Bromsgrove Grammar School, developed into congestion of the lungs and he was not strong enough to undergo the wear and tear of a severe season of League football. After leaving Villa , he joined Derby County, but another cold caught in a match in London revived the old lung malady and a long and painful illness had a fatal termination yesterday. He received the best attention at his own home, his parents having removed some time ago from Gravelly Hill to Manchester. Woolley was under engagement with Derby County until April next. The Aston Villa committee have been exceedingly kind to him and Woolley never lost his interest in the old club. Almost the last thing he asked before lapsing into unconsciousness on Saturday was whether they had won at Derby"
