This has been on the go for ages....Kevin Smith is going to be involved in some way so might not be that bad.

Jus to clear a few things up

I was sat in front of George Lucas at the talk he did at star wars celebration last year when he officialy announced the tV series ..

There no solid info on the show anywhere.

Kevin Smith is not involved ... many times he skirted around the a subject. and now has denyed ever being involved but would love to work on it.

Any official news will be announced on starwars.com an theres now on there.

Just a LOT OF RUMOURS...

If they're going to do a series, it should continue on from Episode III and follow a squad of elite Stormtroopers as the Empire spreads out across the galaxy imposing order and setting up bases everywhere. Each episode should be a different alien world and them encountering problems taking it over, kind of like Starship Troopers but better. Add some relationship issues between the troopers and you've got TV gold (providing they're individual humanoid volunteers and not all Temuera Morrison). Paul Verhoeven should direct it, it should be ultra-hardcore violent and it should run for no longer than 12 episodes. Later episodes could involve early run-ins with the Rebel Alliance. :D

Depending on who they get to write for this I think it could be pretty interesting. There always seemed a lot more possibility to the Star Wars universe than its creator had the skill to realise in the movies, particularily the dire prequels. Most fan fiction is better than the stuff Lucas comes out with himself - his imagination far exceeds his writing skills!

Plus Tatooine is one of the cooler Star Wars worlds, with the bounty hunters, sand people, general freaky monsters and Pod Racing all going off. I always thought a great cheesy spin off movie would be set in the cut throat world of the galaxies pod tournaments! :D

Loving the Dungs 'Troopers' idea! In the unlikely event you guys have missed it I'd recommend downloading the rather excellent 'TROOPS' a comedy version of that idea made flesh.

I would worry about 100 episodes tho. It's gonna cost a fortune to make and could easily turn out like that Stargate TV series that looks so cheap next to the original film. Lots of filming in quarries where all the aliens are humans in 'weird' trousers.

By the way whats wrong with Smallville? It took the most ridiculous of all the superheros (c'mon he wears his PANTS on TOP!) and made him almost credible. And it had a totally cool slaphead Lex Luther. And fit ladies. What's not to like? :P
