Mark ‘Jam & Spoon’ Dies Aged 41
Trance loses one of its most talented producers
Words: Terry Church
Markus Löffel, one half of pioneering German trance act Jam & Spoon, has been found dead in his Frankfurt flat.
It is believed Löffel, aged 41, died of suspected heart attack on 9th January.
Markus (aka Mark Spoon) and Jam El Mar were responsible for some of the biggest trance records in history.
In 1992, their groundbreaking remix of the self-titled single 'Age Of Love' had an enormous impact and helped spawn the modern trance scene, a track that still sounds as fresh and innovative as it did back then.
Under the alias ‘Storm’, the duo also enjoyed chart success with their massive club single ‘Time To Burn’ in 2000.
