Overall, I had a good year. I learned a lot about myself as a person, made it through a few challenging situations, and generally felt awesome about myself (which was the goal I set for the year).

1) High points of 2005
Travel! Somehow I managed to go all over the place.
February: Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, plus little stops in Los Angeles on the way there and the way home)
June: England for Glastonbury, plus a few days in the Netherlands and Belgium
September: Mystery long weekend trip! When I left home, all I knew was that I was flying to/from Amsterdam, and that I was seeing Tamara and Steve the last night. Wouter picked me up at the airport, and in three days he took me on a whirlwind tour through the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and France. It was fabulous.
October: Wouter came to Canada for a week, so we did a little bit of travel around here (through the Toronto area, Niagara Falls, London, etc.)
November: Went to Belgium for a weekend for Wouter's birthday and I Love Techno
I also went to Detroit twice: once to see Kraftwerk, and once with my brother for a couple baseball games

I was 'best man' in the wedding of an old friend that I hadn't seen in years

Meeting Wouter in June changed a lot for me. We'd been friends for eight years, since the old orbital@xmission.com days. We met up and 'clicked' instantly, and everything has been great since... well, once we got around to admitting that we liked each other ;) At times it's challenging to maintain a relationship across a great distance, but we do alright. (21 days and he's here again :))

2) Low points of 2005
A few tough situations, almost everything's worked out though

3) Film of the year?
I don't know :)

4) Event of the year?
Glastonbury, good muddy fun, and it's always great to hang out with you guys
I Love Techno, because I'd wanted to go for years, and it was worth the wait
Kraftwerk, because I never thought I'd see them again
The last-ever Hullabaloo rave in Toronto, closing that chapter of my life

5) Word of the year?
I don't know :)

6) Biggest disappointment of the year?
I don't know :)

3. Not seen many films this year. Thought Downfall was very good.
4. Glasto
5. Geek
6. See 2

High points of 2005:

24/4/05 Portsmouth 4 Southampton 1. We sent the scummers down!
Fantastic holiday in Canada/Alaska.
Several great clubbing weekends in the UK and further afield.

Low points of 2005:

Having a boring job. zzzzzz...

Film of the year:

Didn't see any films. Can I have a play instead? Can I? Can I? OK - 'Telstar', the story of Joe Meek, without whom etc etc.

Event of the year:

Glade, which just shaded Glasto for me.

Word of the year:

Can I have two? Shopping cart.

Biggest disappointment of the year?

Having my views about the US Administration confirmed after seeing how they fucked up the evacuation of New Orleans after Katrina. Piss-up in a brewery not even close, grrrr.

1) Finally buying my own house, watching my kids grow

2) Munster not winning the Heineken Cup, Kerry not winning the All-Ireland, Ireland not winning the ICC Cup. As for the soccer, who cares

3) Wallace & Gromit

4) the Electric Picnic. At last we have an Irish Glasto of sorts.

5) to get ferried.
This is a new way of saying that your job has been outsourced to an agency that employs Eastern Europeans at 1/4 of the wage you were on.
From a situation at Irish Ferries where the managemant fucked their Irish staff royally in the ass

6) The Lions/ Not getting to Glastonbury

In real terms this year was an exceptionally good one for me personally.

1) I guess I should say graduating from Upper Secondary School, but actually the real highpoint has been the whole year after that, since I've had a fun gap year. :) With there not being huge amounts of homework, I've finally been able to go to loads of parties and events and completely mess up my sleeping patterns just by hanging out with some friends at unhealthy hours. Also I finally managed to catch The Prodigy live, which has been number 1 on my list of bands to see before I die. Having an amazingly beautiful chick (that I don't know) walk up to me and just give me a kiss at a rave was a pretty memorable moment for me too...

2) Having to look for a job and after finding one, working. Also for at least six months now, I've been stressed and slightly depressed about the fact, that I have nothing but bad things to look forward to next year, when I have to go to the military (which is against my ideals and because of me not being in that good shape, is gonna be just full on torture for me). :( I also regret never going after that chick I mentioned in the "highpoints", because of being too dazzled/drunk. :P

3) Carnosaur. (Okay it was released in 1993, but it's so good that it's the film of every year ;) )

4) I have to say I probably had the most fun at Koneisto (the annual Finnish electronic music festival), but the Prodigy and Juno Reactor gigs were mindblowingly good too.

5) I think the last version of Word came out in 2003... :P

6) I don't know, since I wasn't really disappointed by the fact that I didn't get into the university I applied for as having a gap year had been a part of my plans all the time... Maybe the fact that I'm not able to travel anywhere warm this winter.

All in all, this has been one of the most eventful and memorable years of my life, and I've generally had a really good time, so big up for 2005. :D

1) High points of 2005

Boracay Island, Philippines - twice in one year - first time in January, and the second time now (which is where I'm typing this response)! 8)

Seeing New Order 6 times this year (meeting lots of new friends on the way).

New job which allows me to work from home 90%+ of the time - bliss! :D

Trip to Rome with family - beautiful city, lovely food, great people.

Big Chill 2005 - always a pleasure to meet up with friends on this board and spend some chilled-out days enjoying good music with great company.

2) Low points of 2005

Erm, trying to think of one....

3) Film of the year ?

I'm not really that much of a cinema person, but I did see Dodgeball this year (although it came out last year) - funny as fcuk (Vince Vaughan/Ben Stiller)

4) Event of the year ?

808 State/New Order - live in Turin, Italy - two of my favourite bands in a hot country with loads of friends 8)

Liverpool winning the Champions League 8)

5) Word of the year ?

Most definitely! :P

(more of a phrase, really, but it seems appropriate)! :)

6) Biggest disappointment of the year ?

Can't think of one! :)

1) High points of 2005

It was quite a stress free year which is always a bonus. Loads of music things going on and i actually got the nuts to put some of my stuff out there. Loopz Broadcasts, Loopz-Music, The Brum Creative Collective (which isnt live) and Legend of the Green Dragon were all projects that i got up and running. If it works then its always a high point for me. lol. Both Paul and Phils demo cds i got from them were cool. I'm not one to mention things like that normally but as its the year review ;)

I managed to have 2 holidays plus my usual Glastonbury trek which i really enjoyed. Experiencing that storm at Glasto was something i realy enjoyed (call me weird...go on :) ) .

2) Low points of 2005

Yve passing away has to be the lowest i've felt for years and maybe the ultimate low in my life. I have some great friends which you dont realise about until things like this happen. I missed the Orbital thing more this year as well.

3) Film of the year ?

"Downfall" and "Star Wars Episode III"

4) Event of the year ?

Glastonbury. I wont forget this one for a long time for many reasons. Autechre in Manchester because they seriously blew me away that night and of course how can i forget the best natural event of the year, the Birmingham Tornado!

5) Word of the year ?

cock

6) Biggest disappointment of the year ?

Lack of good music nights in Brum towards the later half of the year. Seriously dried up.

1) High points of 2005

Co-producing a record that made it into the UK singles chart at #3 and stayed in the top 40 for 13 weeks.

Being asked to sign a record by a musical hero.

Going out to San Francisco to DJ out there and having some very cool and good friends from the UK join me for the craic.

Have I mentioned 'Doctor Pressure'? ;)

2) Low points of 2005

Not getting the job with NATS that I applied for. Bummer.

Losing £3,200 in salary due to being forced to take a company car.

Bob Moog, legendary father of the modern analogue synth died.

3) Film of the year ?

'Batman Begins', because it embidied everything Batman should be about and 'Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit' just because it's bloody brilliant.

4) Event of the year ?

The Big Chill - Just the best festival in the world. Yes, better than Glastonbury in my eyes.

5) Word of the year ?

"Hey You Guys!" (Only a few people will understand this but trust me, it's very funny to us)

6) Biggest disappointment of the year ?

Can't think of any offhand, apart from not getting that job. Oh and having to give my Focus hire car back and take that bloody Vectra instead.

1) High points of 2005

Being promoted, finding out one of my best friend's going to have a baba, discovering TPB 8)

2) Low points of 2005

Having some family issues to resolve. Crazy fucking frog EVERYWHERE

3) Film of the year ?

Piranha II or EPIII or TPB the movie

4) Event of the year ?

Glasto rocked the proverbial butt, although I wish I coulda met up with you guys too, but I always forget how hard it is to meet all the people you wanna meet after only having been awake for minutes when someone sticks some pear cider and a huffer of a joint through the tent door..... then it just gets worse from there.

Big chill was superb too.
Will miss it next year.

5) Word of the year ?

Cocksucker
aboot
drunk bastard
chicken fingers
Smokey
sweet
swish
shit rope
shit hawk
shit storm
or any other way to stick "shit" in a sentance,

....too many to choose from.

6) Biggest disappointment of the year ?

Luckily not too many. Probably my payrise wasnt as much as my manager had told me... but I should have known better than to have believed him in the first place.

2) Low Point of 2005 - Chelski humping Liverpool 4-1

1. This year for Willsy has been a pretty good one and i feel quite content that its not been spoiled (as has in previous years) by a girlfriend messing it all up for me! So a high point for me has been my close friends who have probably without knowing it played a very important part in Willsy's 2005 and making it a very great, happy and memorable year!

High points...

The summer weather.
Many great nights out at Fabric.
Meeting Phil Hartnoll @ Fabric.
Being introduced to Trailer Park Boys.
A walk i had with my friend Sarah by a really picturesque river in Hampshire in the evening summer sun.
Liverpool winning the Champions League.
Yeovil Town FC promoted to League 1 after winning League 2.
Going to the Big Chill for the first time.
Being told that by someone that they cant imagine life without me in it! Ahhhhh!

and many more that i cant possibly think of right now!

2. My Grandad sadly passing away...
Constantly repairing my VW Corrado.
Yeovil Town FC's hailed manager Gary Johnson leaving and joining fierce local rivals Bristol City.
Not having any real snow yet!
Selling my beloved mag featured VW Corrado which i had cherished for 4 years...its just a car Willsy......its just a car!!!

3. Film of the year for me has to be Episode III.

4. Gotta be the Big Chill weekend or finally seeing Nine Inch Nails live after all this time! Still in awe at how good that gig was!

5. Dirty cocksucker....or any others like Memly has already mentioned from Trailer Park Boys...i find myself using them all the time!

6. Not sorting my portfolio out and finding a better design job in any place in the world other than Andover!!! Not making steps to buy a house and get out of renting in shared accomodation.

1) High points of 2005
Basically the whole of May, June, July and August, I really enjoyed those months, my most happy months this year. Probably cause it was summer and I was feeling very happy. Being able to sit on my balcony until the sun sets. I don't do well in winters.
My high points aren't ''big'', just small things: spending time with friends and having a laugh, spending time with my niece and nephew who I adore and play silly kids' games.
My books got published.
And at the end of December I received a double salary. Money can't buy you happiness but it sure makes life easier!
I discovered Lush!

2) Low points of 2005
Yes, there have been a few. A dear friend of mine passed away. Lots of stress at work. Lots of personal and family stuff too. But I'm still smiling :)

3) Film of the year ?
Well ... erm ... dunno ... don't go to the cinema that often. Watched a lot of DVD's. The girls' night in with Tam watching The House of Wax. I was finally introduced to Short Circuit and Team America, thanks Kagey ... I now have them both on DVD. I'm getting the hang of this DVD watching so if any of you have any suggestions, please let me know.

4) Event of the year ?
NIN in Manchester ... thanks Kagey and Han! I so enjoyed that one, I just stood there for 5 minutes with my jaw dropped unanble to move when the band just started playing.

5) Word of the year ?
Holadiejee!

6) Biggest disappointment of the year ?
Driving in the wrong direction on the Amsterdam Orbital .... it took me forever to get home tonight .. lol
