 yeah whatever.

Its a shame 24 hour drinking didnt come in earlier then he would've been long gone.
What a waste of a liver, that could've gone to someone who needed and would've respected it.

George Best the footballer was a genius. It also sounds like he had a lot heart for fellow footballers with all his charity work. Its a shame that all this is overshadowed by his so called private life. Typical media crap. Wish they would concentrate on him as a fantastic footballer.

As always i feel sorry for the family who most of these wanky reporters must seem to forget about.

RIP

Dont get me wrong, I have an issue with the fact that he was given a second chance in life with a new liver and he took the piss.
The fact he was an alcoholic before is irrelevant.
The fact he was a womaniser interests me not one iota.
As always it is sad for the families that are left behind.
If you think I'm harsh, then so be it but I have my reasons.

The new liver wont change the fact that he was an alcoholic and besides if you have an issue with all that then just take it on board.

The man is dead, he doesnt need to be put down anymore.

Well I'm sorry but I agree with Mel here. Everyone's hailing him to be some sort of saint at the moment but he misused a donated liver that could've really helped someone more deserving and was a wife-beater to boot

I'm sorry that I dare to disagree with your opinion!
There was absolutely no need to make this personal whatsoever.
You obviously know me so well that you know what I have and havent achieved. And you think that I'm being judgemental.

When one of your close friends has got less than 5 years to live because they have an incurable liver disease through no fault of their own then maybe you will understand why I feel strongly about this issue.

My uncle died of liver failure - does that make it ok now? Really i think everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless if they have someone or whoever affected by the situation.

Being personal to George Best is ok isnt it ? Besides i'm stating something that is very common knowledge. Just read all the tributes about what an achievement he made for football. Yes we all know about his personal life as its been documented a lot in the press. You are not telling us something we dont already know.

I just think that posting disrespectable messages on a thread dedicated to George Best is not going to help anyone. If you want to bitch about the situation then go and create a "i hate george best" thread.

p.s. You can disagree about anything i post. i am not in the least bothered. If i was then you wouldnt posting here anymore would u. :P

Footballing genius who made a lot of people very happy. United the world of football over the weekend and will be remembered for his football long after his fight against alcoholism is forgotten.

The fact that a relative of yours died does not make anything ok or better.
It doesnt make me feel better if thats what your angling at.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I'm not saying so otherwise.

When I mentioned about being personal, I wasnt talking about George, it was in reference to the fact that you said " he achieved more than you will ever achieve" in other words, you being personal towards me. I did not see how that was relevant in this discussion and I saw no need to slight my character - nobody is perfect.

I'm also not as childish as to even think of creating such a thread.

If you wish to "ban" me because my opinion is different than yours, or for whatever other reason you see fit then so be it.

I will not reply on this thread again, because this is a thread for people who wish to pay tribute to George Best, not a debate or a discussion on the rights or wrongs of his life.

Ok, that's enough. Think we've dealt with this topic now guys. Although I do think it was a bit unfair to get 'personal' Steve and I don't agree with your 'respect the dead' opinion, do you respect Hitler just because he's dead?
