Probably only of tenuous interest - but Ulrich's rare High Violets remix is included as an opener to this Christmas mix here (complete with added sleighbells)...

http://soundcloud.com/randysqualor/rand ... nds-vol-29

(This also incidentally includes Charlie May's Kasabian remix with Sasha, mentioned above.)

All the best,

Randy.

In case anybody missed this track recently:

Ulrich Schnauss & Jonas Munk - Ocean Drive (originally featured on the Dutch "Supperclub Adrenalin" comp)

It's now included as a mix opener here:

http://soundcloud.com/randysqualor/rand ... nds-vol-30

(Obviously no need to download the whole mix - Soundcloud just lets you listen to the start.)

All the best to all,

Randy.

2 a sunny day in glasgow: ghost in the graveyard
3 katharina franck: faithful friend
4 madrid: out to sea
5 asobi seksu: strawberries
6 dragons: remembrance
7 aus: halo
8 mahogany: supervitesse
9 lunz (roedelius & tim story): lunz

”Essentially what makes me really happy about this album is the fact that it's a selection of the - in my opinion - best mixes from a musical point of view, rather than a compilation of the commercially most succesful ones, or the tracks that have the biggest names associated with them. In all cases, the original songs are already great in their own right - which made it really inspiring to work with them.” – Ulrich Schnauss

Cool!

Alex - great news on that...

So this will be an 100% official, fully licensed release presumably?

If so, it will indeed be great to finally get WAVs of some of the rarer remixes... (which previously I've only found sold as 320's at best)

(And maybe all the torrent-heads can also buy it, to finally pay Ulrich/the artists for their work...)

All the best,

Randy.

I gotta say, if this is Ulrich's new label, they're certainly doing a better job than either Independiente or Domino (good luck finding anything about Stars EP on Domino's website). Hope he sticks with them!

Also Working

Ulrich Schnauss
Title: TBC
Due: late 2010
Producer: Ulrich Schnauss
Songs: Ten Years, Her And The Sea
The Buzz: The German electronicist now living in east London is doing all-nighters in his home studio to record the follow-up to 2007's gem Goodbye. "That electronica-shoegazing sound is finished now," he says. "The new music is more open, less about traditional songs forms, but will keep the melodic and harmonic elements. I'll always love the music I grew up with but now I'm trying something that is my own rather using the frame of a genre or an influence. In terms of general approach you could compare it to Tangerine Dream in the '70s, which used electronic instruments, but sounded human and organic." He's working on an album with vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw, also due next year.
