AQUASKY vs LONGRANGE - CROSSWIRE - REMIX CONTEST!!

Ever heard a remix and thought you could have done it better than that? Feel you have the talent but have never had the break to prove it? Wanna join the Passenger elite?

This could be your chance. Aquasky in conjunction with Passenger, Addict Clothing and Breaks FM are giving you that opportunity to come good and represent. We are offering to you the samples from our recent collaboration with the mighty Phil Hartnoll from Orbital (under his Long Range alter-ego) to download and remix for us. And to celebrate our 10 years of twisting up beats from hip hop through to drum and bass, we are going to permit mixes of any genre to be submitted.

Once you are confident and happy with your mix you will be able to upload it onto a secure server, using the upload link located on the main page. The closing date will be January 31st 2006. At this point we will go and collect the mixes and spend the month of February deciding which is best overall, so please do not ask us for feedback until after the closing date. The winner will be announced on the Aquasky and BreaksFM websites, and via email on the day our Teamplayers LP is launched (currently scheduled for February 27th 2006). Only entries that collect their samples via our website by filling out their correct details will be qualified to enter.

Okay, so why bother you may be wondering??? Well the prize is as follows:

1: The winning mix will be released on Passenger.

2: The winner will be invited into the Aquasky studio to mix their track down in the company of the boys themselves (stun guns and pepper spray will be provided of course).

3: A record bag and two T-shirts (Girls and Boys option) supplied to us from our sponsors Addict Clothing Company for you to look good now you are going to get all these high paid gigs from being a famous producer: http://www.addictclothingco.com

4: Breaks FM prize: 1 year membership to BreaksFM platinum - platinum BFM members have access to all show archives in 128k mp3 format, digitally remastered and set up for CD burning (cut into 1 hour blocks) - estimated retail value $85 USD. In addition, the winner will also receive a BreaksFM tee of their choice from the BFM shop.

So there you have it, it is as simple as that. Now, go grab those samples, take some holiday from work, buy tons of munchies, lock the door, bolt the windows, close the curtains, unplug the phone, shut down your emails and get busy. We will be judging all tracks on merit so do not panic if you can not get your mix to sound as sonically perfect as some CD’s you may have in your collection. Some of those cats have been producing for many years and have a wealth of experience. We are looking for raw talent and fresh ideas.

Enjoy yourselves and we will be seeing one of you in the New Year.

From Aquasky's website:

"I will keep you all up to date with all the singles following these as soon as they are decided upon. What I can tell you is that the album will be released on February 6th 2006. It will be a single CD and also a double pack vinyl 12”. The intention is also for us to release a remix CD of Teamplayers later in 2006 containing all the mixes from the 12”s that came out and also a few exclusive mixes by names yet undecided (well I can tell you at this stage that Marky from Brazil and Baobinga are on the list) but you can be certain it will be hot property when completed."

Yeah, just ironed out the glitches... Levels haven't changed.

Thing is, I had to submit it as a 96KHz MP3. Christ knows what it'll sound like at their end!

You can still order copies of the promo from the Aquasky website, however full release *should* be out today on both 12" single and CD single... Haven't found a place to order them yet, though... :?
