Its literally just occured to me that its only two months till xmas eve today!!!
Where has the year gone!!!
Saw my first Christmas decorations on top of a Plumbing supplies outlet near waterloo whilst on the train into London on Friday night...crazy! Bit early i thought to myself, not really taking much notice of the date....i guess in retail terms christmas starts as soon as the summer ends!

When I go to Toronto, I take the regional coach to a big shopping mall that has a subway station. I walked in a while back and was SHOCKED to see that the Bell (phone company) store had been turned into one of those awful Christmas-themed shops. I think it was early September or so at the time... too early!

September is just too early!!!! so when does it start to snow for you in Canada? as snow to me always signifies winter and xmas!

Well, around my way it will normally be mid-late November before we see anything that sticks around, but there will sometimes be flurries on extra cold morinings before then. I heard rumours over the weekend that there were flurries up in Caledon (30-40min north of here) but who knows if they were true or not

Just for once, I wish we had the same sort of snow that Rich n' I encountered out in Andorra a couple of years ago. That'd be cool...
I love snow n' winter, it's just all the commercial crap about Christmas I can't stand...

well, instead of santa, we also have sinterklaas, (which the americans STOLE and made santa out of.. seriously). he's another guy with a beard and dressed in red, and gives out presents..
his party is at 5th of december. and he also gives away candy (or his helpers do) like these little cookies in the picture, called pepernoten (peper nuts)
which have nothing to do with either peper or nuts.
good food.

Wasn't Santa Claus originally dressed in green before a Coca Cola advert dressed him in red (colour of coke)?
