Listening to Music Backwards

There's a lot of stuff out there about playing music backwards, and I'd like to do it myself, but I cannot find a program that can do it on my Mac OS X unfortunately. Some interesting groups to play backwards range from Boards of Canada all the way to The Beatles....Anyone ever hear anything weird playing Orbital backwards?

Good point, but that's not really a good option this semester, later my friend I will get a life. Not until January unfortunately. Nevertheless I agree with you.

but if it's backwards does that actually imply that it's not really fun?

Yes I have heard the end of the box played forward--I'm assuming you're talking about the original version and not one of the untitled or vocal versions.

Ha haha... I actually remember sitting with a friend & spinning his record backwards to hear that when I was about 14. I didn't even really understand what Marijuana was yet, but it did sound like that.

Reminds me of a few years later when, with that same friend, we tried smoking 'weed' for the first time. Keep in mind I grew up in New Mexico & there were weeds everywhere you looked. We actually pulled up some Buffalo Grass rolled it up in papers & tried giving it a puff. Choked & hacked like mad we did, it was awful. Dumb kids.... Lol.

Wouldn't even try smoking marijuana for several years after that.

Similary I remember trying to smoke dried out banana skins as a twatty teenager. I had a headache for a month.

Isnt there a Beatles song thats supposed to say something backwards?
"A day in the life" springs to mind, but I could be wrong.

Wasnt Judas Priest taken to court for subliminal messages in their music after one of their fans comitted suicide?

Rain has some backwards vocals in and there's something called the hidden groove right at the end of vinyl versions of Sgt Pepper. They used backwards instrumental tracks loads of times.

That's true, Judas Priest won the case.

I'm intrigued by "Give me a fuck. Give me a fuck now" being in the Popeye Theme Song. I'm at work at the moment so I'm too scared to check it out...
