This yellow font is very aggrivating on the eyes.

Oh right, my bad.
Where's me avatar gone?
EDIT: Ah right, you took away the only good way of having an avatar, by linking it to an offsite image.

Nah...as soon as you linked from outside i realised the lack of control we would have and could be asking for trouble. You avatar was larger than others and made the thread width go weird. It was enough to change it back to server based avatars

I did try and keep the size down. Now that I think about it I probably should have made it smaller still because I have higher screen resolution than most so it would've appeared bigger.

You know, it's kind of hard to judge how big the file size of an image will be when resizing it.

is it ? use Paint Shop Pro and when you go to resize it, it will tell you its dimensions

Most forums limit to 80x80 and with PHP you can stop people from using anything larger...

I'm using photoshop and when I resize it it tells me the dimensions, but it doesn't say how big it is. Seems that most images have to be really low quality to be under 20kb and 120x120.

Not true... You can easily shrink and image and keep the graphic quality if the original image isn't too huge to start with. You might be trying to condense it too much.

I think all the pics posted so far look fine to me and they are all below 20k. Dog is spot on.

Here's a very simple windows power tool for resizing your pictures. Just download it then all you have to do is right click any pic & choose resize, pick the size you want & tada!!! you've got it.[/url]
