If I dig a very deep hole, where I go to stop?
Another stupid application for Google Maps...
well, that about sums it up
find your garden on the map, click to dig, and zoom out (use the full zoom out link) to see where it ends

I found my home plus the boatyard of our boat from there. My hole ended up surprinsingly close to yours, but I guess a nice swim in the pacific would be just dandy after all that digging and heat...
