Baseball is the worst!!! Even being at a game is just a bit more enjoyable than working (because of the drinking ;) ). Cricket is a lot like baseball only I don't really understand what the hell is going on. So it's just an even more un-enjoyable version of the same game to me. What I can't believe though is that there is actually a cricket team team which practices weekly at the park down the street from my house, all dressed up in their pretty little white uniforms even. I just didn't think they'd be able to find that many fans around here.

Even though I'm in the US the only sport I watch regularly, & from beginning to end, is soccer (yeah, yeah football). I also watch football (yeah, yeah the american type) sometimes, but the amount of commercials during the game annoy me. Plus the Chicago Bears are gonna suck this year , again, so I'm really hoping for a good EPL season.

Forecast is hinting at rain in London on Friday/Saturday. :)

Now all I want is for an exciting finish – with an England win – sometime on Monday afternoon. Bring it on!

I would like:

1. England to bat first and score 600, taking up the first 2 days
2. Torrential rain Sat & Sun
3. Entire Aussie team busted for performance enhancing drugs
4. To hear them whinge all the way back to the Land of Culture
5. To enquire of every Aussie I see 'didn't you used to be good at sport?' and 'never mind - there's always the swimming'
6. Ask them why, at immigration, they ask you if you've got a criminal record - I didn't think you still needed one!

(God I'm loving this, and I don't even like bloody cricket)

England winning the Ashes and Villa getting thumped all on the same day. Priceless.

Now all I want is Ireland to beat England in the World Cup in two years........

That was one of the best summers of cricket I have ever had.
I just hope the momentum can be kept up.

It's not that bad - at least you're good at housework on ice...

Well it's started again. Looks like the Ashes could be competetive at least.
