Orbital playing at my wedding!

Okay, sorry for the semi-misleading title. Anyway, long time lurker here, and only very occasional poster I'm afraid.
Me and the missus are getting married in October, and have decided that the music for her walking up the aisle is going to be Halcyon +On +On. Being a huge Orbital fan I can't think of any better song to get married to. But, what I was wondering is, as the intro before the bass line kicks in is only 2 mins, I was hoping that one of you talented mixxy-dj types out there might be able to do some jiggery-pokery and be able to do us a remix that extends the intro a bit? My good lady understandably doesn't really want to have to worry about make it to the front before two mins is up.
In case you're interested, we've going to have 'Always' by Bent for during the signing of the register, and the single version of Halcyon for when we leave.
All the best, and hope someone might be able help.

That'd be excellent - thanks loads.
Although we've got a jazz band in the evening, and my old band are reforming to do a few numbers, I'm also compiling a compilation for the last hour of the evening when I'm going to crank up the tempo a bit with some choons, like Underworld Cowgirl, bit of Faithless, some Orbital etc. Hey - it's my wedding so I'm going to play what I want! Sod having another round of Abba and Robbie Sodding Williams...

I have an extened intro version done already that Lauren & I were going to use for the same thing at our wedding (also in October btw). We have since changed our minds but I've still got the mp3 here, let me know & I hook you up.
There will still be pleanty of Orbital at our reception/after party, infact the whole things gonna kick off with OPS. If I can get a net connection we'll be web-caming it too so watch this space & join the party yourself!!!

That'd be great if you could let me have a copy of the mp3.
Cheers,

This is a great idea, rikkie.
There's at least two (at least; not counting LIVE) varying full length versions of the track out there: Halcyon+on+on and the 11 min Halcyon from Radiccio EP.
Hmm, I just dug up that Radiccio version, and it starts pretty similarly to +on+on, I guess.
Maybe there's no ready-made solution to this. Well, luckily we have these dj-wannabes lining up to please our bride.
hmm, also of interest is the Opus III's "It's A Fine Day" acapella track at the end of that CD-single. But THAT would be cheating.
Then again, that's how THE BOYS did it, right?
anyway, carry on...

The funniest song I heard at a friends wedding was, well the signing of the autograph book was done to "Destiny" by Zero 7, which was fitting apart from the line "I'm watching Porn in my hotel dressing room" which was overlooked by most of the friends and family. When they made the walk out of the church, the song playing was "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel
The opening line being "Hello darkness my old friend...", unfortunately I had just downed a big gulp of the bubbly which then proceeded to spray out of my nose all over the ladies hat that was sitting in front of me.
Apparently I was the only one who thought this choice was a bit strange.

No problem - and thanks for the efforts.
As for inappropriate songs, I'm really having to resist putting "Every Day I Love You Less And Less" by the Kaiser Cheifs of my evening mix... Dare I, dare I? Hmmmm....
The Zero 7 story's class... Mind you I'm surprised that got past the registrar's as we had to supply a copy of all the music we're playing, even the stuff before the ceremony (bit of gentle Bebel Gilberto).
Anyway, how cool's my stag do gonna be? Off to the Electric Picnic in Ireland for Kraftwerk. Quality.

I prefer the +on +on intro. I dunno, there's something faintly depressing and maudlin about the into to the Radiccio version - that keyboard line.
As for the live version, maybe we should mix in the "Bring on the fuckin' Bon Jovi" shout from the Satan Live Ep.... Guaranteed a winner every time!
