what is that ear worm humming??

Post by custard99 »

out of sheer trivia, i started listing a whole load of songs that erm..
kinda hum in your ear drum, the ones you love, the songs that remind you of a time in your life, and you get mushy and lushy when you hear them. And yes, the songs tell u quite a bit about someone from their music experiences so let's share.
Quack! Dip, sip & Go!! Or, just do the kitty shake.

It's 106 miles to Chicago.
We got a full tank of gas,
half a pack of cigarettes.
It's dark and we are wearing sunglasses

These albums remind me of my youth...

Jesus Jones - Liquidiser
EMF - Schubert Dip
Pop will eat itself - This is the day, this is the hour, this is this
Neds Atomic Dustbin - Godfodder
Carter the unstoppable sex machine - 30 something
The Wonderstuff - Never Loved Elvis
Happy Mondays - Pills, thrills and bellyaches
Therapy - Babyteeth

still regularly listen to them & more and get taken back to those days of paisley pattern hoodies, baggy jeans and trainers!!

Those days were good days!
"You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really"
Nigel Tufnel talking about his song "Lick My Love Pump" - This Is Spinal Tap.

I've listed albums, cos as a smelly, hairy, grubby, irritable, moody teenager I tended to listen to albums and had a general contempt for pop music, something which I dont have now...

Pearl Jam - Ten
Rage Against the Machine (I LOVED THAT ALBUM!)
Nirvana- Bleach/Nevermind/In Utero
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Metallica - ... And Justice for all (and everything else upto Black)
Jeff Wayne - War of the Worlds
Blur - Parklife/Modern Life is Rubbish
Oasis - Definately Maybe
Ozric Tentacles - Strangitude
The Prodigy - Experience/Music for the Jilted Generation
Orbital - OBVIOUSLY!!
Cypress Hill - Black Sunday
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head/ Pauls Boutique
Senser - Stacked Up
Bjork - Debut
Alice in Chains - Dirt/Jar of Flies
Stone Roses
Mr Bungle
Faith No More - Real Thing/Angel Dust
Eat Static - Implant
Dodgy - Homegrown
Pink Floyd - WYWH, DSOTM, Animals, Wall.
Led Zeppelin - I,II,III, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti
Hendrix - Experience, Axis Bold as Love.

I could go on and on, but most of whats on this list I dont really listen to much now... apart from Orbital, Prodge and a few others. I think its quite clear that I swayed towards the "Grunge" side of things...
I don't know you people...why are you here?

I've got the album!

I remember seeing that on Top Of The Pops, and pointing out the fact that I actually had one of those Casio synths! :D
