New Single “Where Is It Going?” – August 27th 2012

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

That Live Style Mix is the version that should have been on the album in the first place. A much less abrupt ending and extended ending sequence make this version far superior to the album version. I'm loving it, may just put this in place of the album version in my ipod.
Shanky, shanky Jose!

As much as I like the Live Style Mix (and the excellent Badger edits!) I think I'll keep the album version on my player (tho I still have the download version of Never on there).

The album version has grown on me. The Live style will remain just on the single.

I've made my album with Never (Represented By Orbital) [the download version which I assume was produced by Orbital themselves and the version we got on the album was produced with Flood] Wonky (My Extended Album Edit) [using the album version and then parts of the stems from the remix competition to have a longer ending and fade out] and Where Is It Going (My Longer Alternate Album Edit) [using the whole album version and then the last minute from the Live Style Mix to create a nice breakdown slow ending to the album].

Yes, I imagine Flood would have offered advice and production techniques on aspects of the album. Also might have had a strong influence on the structure of the tunes and had some creative ideas of his own.
Part of P&Ps excitement working with a producer like Flood would no doubt be his experience and his style of production.

The equipment available in the studio and the mixing engineer will also have an influence too.

I am sure his influence is felt through the entire album, and I am sure if Mickey Mann got his hands on it, it may have sounded quite a bit different.

Saying that though, I dont think Wonky is the best produced Orbital album I have heard, far from it actually... some of the dynamics of the tunes confuse me. It is certainly not an album I could listen from start to finish at the same volume.
I don't know you people...why are you here?

Actually redone the end of my Wonky edits so they fade fully.
