New interview on The Quietus.

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

New interview on The Quietus.

Post by Carpathian »

New interview with the chaps on The Quietus and a good read it is too! Covers a few of things I'd been wondering about - especially the samples on One Big Moment, the difference in the pair of them these days and the more defined focus to the album.

Phil: ... So after a year and half, playing all these old tracks, we thought, shit, we'd better try and write some new stuff to put into the set.

Paul: And that was that. So we decided to get together last January and do some new stuff. And we did right through 'til November – eleven months.
Oddly, they never mention Don't Stop Me/The Gun Is Good in the interviews.

I still love TGIG. :nerd

We don't make music for people to dance to. We make music to move people emotionally
That's what Orbital are are about!
I want to feel the same way as I did when I heard 'Tears Of A Clown', the Beat's version, when I was young. The first time I heard that, straightaway it was imprinted on my mind, this great emotional stamp of music – it became piece of me
And this is exactly how I feel about the Wipeout version of P.E.T.R.O.L!

Bizarre that the interview intially states that the samples for "One Big Moment" are a secret, and then he states it later on in the interview...? :?:
